Tekst achterflap
The selection of 22 French racing bikes from the 1930s to the 1990s is intended to illustrate the lightness, elegance and diversity of the bikes designed in France during this period.
The title of this publication quotes the motto of the cycling letter carrier François from Jacques Tatis movie "Jour de fête". From Alcyon, Bertin and to Motobécane, Peugeot and Vitus, the bicycles were illuminated and photographed by Niels Schubert. The bikes come from the collections of Karl Heinrich and Alexander Philipp/Subsonico.
A selection will be shown together with their Italian competitors in July 2024 in the exhibition "Tour de Cyclistes" at the finale of the Tour de France in Nice at VogelART's Neo art&culture lab gallery.
